DebianDay/Talk6

From DebConf7

Free software in the commercial environment

Chris Halls, Credativ Ltd

Talk to anyone at the Debian conference, and they'll tell you that Linux is ready for the enterprise. Your office workers might tell you they don't know what Linux is, or why they should be interested. But chances are they are already using Linux in some form or another, and that trend is increasing.

In this talk we will take a look at places where Linux and Free Software are in use already, and the reasons why organisations are making the switch.

About the speaker

Chris Halls manages the UK office of credativ, providing support and services to organisations using Linux and Free Software. He has been using Linux from 2003 and has been packaging OpenOffice in Debian since 2001.
